Solar panels installed on club roof

Following a structural survey of the roof, the club have made a significant investment in solar energy which will reduce our electricity bills for many years to come.  Payback of the cost of the system is estimated to be about 6-7 years so anything after that time is profit.  During the summer months and. to a lesser extent the spring & autumn months, excess electricity over and above our own requirements will be sold to the national grid.  Even during the winter some electricity will be generated, reducing our bills during that time. The other benefit, of course, is that we are doing our bit, albeit very small in the scheme of things, to help protect the environment
