Crawford Cup - SCIBA V SCBA

3 members of Donyngs IBC played at Wey Valley IBC yesturday (08/10/25) afternoon in the Crwaford Cup. 

An annual contest between Suurey County Indoor Bowling Association and Surrey County Outdoor Association.  1 match outdoors and 2 indoors, points added together - 1 per rink win, 1/2 per rink draw and 2 points overall score.

Having won the Outdoor match 5 1/2 - 2 1/2 SCIBA were buzzing for their first win for sometime and were leading for most of the match. However over the kast quarter SCIBA fought hard and came very close to pulling it off. Indeed the last bowl on Rink 1 took out 1 bowl to leave a 4 to SCIBA to win by 1 shot, thus gaining 1 point not 1/2!! This gave SCIBA a match win of, yes , 5 1/2 to 2 1/2. This made 7 hours x 6 rinks bowling a DRAW. 

In this game Tony Buckee played for SCBA and Neil Dimmock and Ted Ray for SCIBA.

A post match meal was provided by Wey Valley's new Caterers. A fitting finish to a fine contest.
