Denny Cup Result

Donyngs Dragons Men met Wey Valley IBC in The Denny Cup, the premier National Inter-Club Mens Knockout Competition. The format is 2 rinks at Home and 2 Away.

Donyngs got to a decent start with the Home 2 rinks holing their own, and i rink Away leading and the other behind. unfortunately the Away winning rink dropped off dramatically against some fine front end bowls and back up 3 and skip. Whilst they endeavoured to regain contact a deadly 5 end collapse finished them off.

Meanwhile Dave Halls rink battled manfully, but some excellent backend recoveries by WV kept the hopes of a win at bay. losing the last 2 ends put paiid to that.

At Home Steve both rinks played hard but 2 strong WV rinks were too much.

Unfortunately Wey Valley threw water on the Dragons flames and beat them 96 - 61

Donyngs now enter The Plate with the PreliminaryRound against local rivals Mole Valley on Saturday 1st November.
