SINGLES - Darren Rosser lost a close game against John Barnard, Mole Valley, 19-21 in Round 1. Andrew Orme beat Grahame Robinson of Horsham 21-4 in Prelimnary Round, beat Paul Crump of Hoesham 21-17 in Round 1, then met fellow Donyngs Dragon Dave Hall. Andrew went on to win this local battle of the giants 21-8. Dave Hall beat compatriot Wayne Thornton 21-8 in Round 1, but lost to Andrew Orme (see above). George Hopper beat James McNulty of Horsham in Prelim Round 21-7, Alfie Simmons of Horsham in Round 1 21-15, but was defeated by Andrew Richardson of Wey Valley (who beat Ted Ray 21-12 in Round 1) 21-15 in Round 2.

PAIRS - Ian Mellis and John Harwood beat Andy Williams and Iain Boyd of Horsham 24-15 in Prelim Round, and played Andrew Orme and David Hall, also Donyngs, and in a close game got the vedict 19-15. They now play Horsham A.

TRIPLES - Dave Hall, Andrew Orme and George Hopper beat James Loaders 3 of Horsham quite comfortably 20-5 and now play Joel Roeberts 3 from Sutton - should be a good game to watch at Sutton.

2 BOWL SINGLES - Andrew Orme lost to Ian Ross of Wey Valley 21-12 in Round 1. Darren Rosser lost to James Loader of Horsham 21-13. John Harwood lost to David White of Horsham 21-11.

OVER 50s TRIPLES - Ted Rat, Charlie Murphy and Wayne Thornton lost to Andy Simmons of Horsham 21-12 in Round 1.

OVE 60s SINGLES - Ted Ray lost to Andy Simmons of Horsham 3-21. Les Felgate lost to David White of Horsham 19-21 in a very tight game at Donyngs in Round 1. Ian Mellis beat Alan Terry of Horsham comfortably 21-11.

OVER 60s PAIRS - Les Felgate and Gerry lost toIan Ross and Andy Newell 15-24 in a tough game away at Wey Valley.

CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS - Dave Hall beat Andrew Richardson of Wey Valley 21-15, then played Amarnath Nachimuthu of Croydon in the Area Semi-Final and was just pipped 18-21. Well done David to get that far and only just get beaten.
