East Surrey's "Centre of Bowling Excellence"

Many congratulations go to Marie Sanderson who, following a trial, has been selected to play for Surrey in the Atherley Trophy against Berkshire to be played at Camberley IBC on Sunday 15th November. Marie joins Val Hobart on the Surrey team. We wish Marie and Val every success in the match.

Congratulations to Steve Whiting who was part of the Surrey Over 60's team that beat Kent by 3 shots in the National Inter County knockout competition. The overall game was extremely close and the outcome was in doubt right up to the last end. He played lead in a rink skipped by Mike Lambert of Egham at Mote Park IBC (3 rinks away at Mote Park and 3 rinks home at Egham). Surrey next play Sussex at a date and locations yet to be confirmed.

The Internal Competitions closing dates have been extended for most competitions other than the Men's and Ladies Singles, Men's and Mixed Pairs.
The draws for the Men's Singles , Men's Pairs and Mixed Pairs are displayed on the competition notice board (down the slope behind rink 2). The Ladies Singles will be displayed shortly.

Each year the EBYDS run a National 'School of Excellence' competition to find a National Champion for Skills and Singles play. It is run in two age groups, Junior (Under 15) and Senior (Under 18). The Surrey round of the competition for 2015 was held at Donyngs and 17 Donyngs members represented our club. Two Under 18s (James & Andrew) and two Under 15s (Ryan & Jack) represented Donyngs at the Regional stage which was held at Horsham and James was selected to go forward to the final stage of the competition which was held at Melton Mowbray on 25th October. Not only did he become the English National Champion in the Skills competition, he also made it to the semi-final stage in the singles.  Well done James!

Christmas meal bookings are now being taken for every Monday and Friday, commencing 4th December. When booking, a £5 non-refundable deposit is required.
